Scholarships for the Wittenberg Autumn School “Transnational Luther”
Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg invites applications for scholarships to attend the Wittenberg Autumn School “Transnational Luther. Wittenberg, Reformations, and Religious Legacies” taking place from 26 October to 1 November 2025. These scholarships are intended for advanced Bachelor’s and Master’s students as well as early-stage PhD candidates. The scholarships cover the participation fee, accommodation, meals, and a partial subsidy for travel expenses.
The Autumn School is part of the program Christianity in Global Transformations and is jointly organized by the universities of Halle-Wittenberg, Copenhagen, and Oslo. It offers an introduction to key themes of the Lutheran Reformation and the dynamics that shaped it as an international movement. A particular focus will be placed on the historical connections between Electoral Saxony and the Nordic countries, as well as on global transfer processes associated with the Reformation movement. These topics will be examined through lenses such as religious practice, theology, law, gender, and transnational entanglements.
To apply, please submit a short CV and a brief letter of motivation by 1 September 2025 to:
